You are in Africa and you want to see and experience something. Relax on the beach or by the pool, read a book under the palms, or play football with the boys from the village for an afternoon — very pleasant, greatly appreciated and a tough job at 30 degrees.
We know a number of good activities from experience. We arrange them on site in Kenya; for the bigger trips we advise you to book from home well in advance.

Things to do from the beach house
Snorkel safari
Snorkel in the underwater national park with tropical fish and coral, spot dolphins and sail on an original dhow. Bookable in Kenya.
Markets and Mombasa
Visit the local markets, or rent a boda-boda or tuk-tuk and set off into Mombasa, Ukunda and Diani with a driver who shows you the local places.
More biking
Guided day rides with motorcycles in the beautiful Shimba Hills, to Mombasa for shopping, or a day in the Usambara Mountains in Tanzania.
Zanzibar
Fly from Mombasa to Zanzibar in an hour: the dream island with Stone Town and beautiful lodges on white beaches. Arrange it in advance.
Game safaris
A wildlife safari from Mombasa or Nairobi — elephants, giraffes, lions and other big game still live here. Not cheap, but beautiful. We give you the right contacts.
Climb Kilimanjaro
Climb the 5,895 m Kilimanjaro from Arusha or Moshi. Do not underestimate it — you have to be fit. Arrange it from home; count on $1,000–1,500 per person.
Work with children
Spend a week or a few days at a local school. Bring material from Europe and read or explain things: classes of 50 children or more, lots of attention and lots of fun.
Skydive, dive or fish
Skydive over Diani from the Ukunda airstrip, dive the Indian Ocean reefs, kite surf at a good school on Diani beach, or fish the Pemba Channel.

Can I stay here without a tour?
Yes. SawaSawa is our own base and you are welcome for a few nights before or after a tour, subject to availability.
What does a night cost?
Rates depend on the season and the room. Ask us for the current price for a double room with breakfast.
Do I need a motorcycle?
No, but we can arrange a bike for day rides in the Shimba Hills or into Tanzania.
Can you book excursions for us?
Yes. We arrange snorkelling, safaris, Zanzibar flights and Kilimanjaro climbs, and we tell you honestly what has to be booked in advance.
How do we get there?
Fly to Mombasa (MBA). We can pick you up at the airport; the drive takes about two hours.
